How My Doula Services Work: For antepartum and postpartum clients I offer one FREE pre-natal visit in your home to give you the opportunity to get to know me and ask questions about doula care. This also gives me the chance to meet all members of your family. Any additional pre-natal appointments that you would like to schedule (before the contracted time for antepartum or postpartum doula services to begin) are $40 each. The additional pre-natal appointments can be a great time for us to plan for postpartum and for you to ask any additonal questions that you may have. I do also offer FREE continuous phone and email support for all clients. Payment Options for Doula Care: I accept cash or personal checks. My fee is $20 per hour for up to an hour's drive from my home in Hoosick Falls,NY (all cities listed on the front page are one hour or less from where I live). If you live over an hour the fee is $25 per hour up to an hour and 15 minutes from my home. If you live farther away than that I will help you find a doula closer to your home. I do not charge for mileage or driving time, only the hours we spend together. If you have special financial needs please speak to me about them and we can try to work out a plan to assist your family. I'm also open to barter/trade. I work in 3-5 hour shifts depending upon how much care you desire per day. Payment Options for Baby Planning and/or Postpartum Consultations: I accept cash or personal checks. My fee is $40 for up to a 1.5 hour session. Doula services qualify to be used as pre-tax dollars through many employer's benefits policies. Please inquire within the human resources department of your company to see if this applies to you. This can mean quite a bit of savings on the cost of doula care if your company has this kind of flexible spending account. Gift certificates are also available, please inquire about this when you call. They make great shower gifts or baby presents. *I have officially obtained a NPI (National Provider Identifier). This will enable clients to begin billing their insurance companies for reimbursement of postpartum doula care. It does not guarantee coverage, but it will let the companies know that families are desiring this kind of reimbursement.
